Language Symposium
The FestivalChairs were a fantastic asset during the annual congress of the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works, and Water Management. The theme was language. Not only were the chairs used as seats, but also as décor on the stage, as costumes for four actors (providing comic relief), as mini tables, and as a way of bringing people together (the assembling of the chairs by the invitees became a team-building activity).
The participants took their chairs along for lunch, and to go to the different workshops. The Ministry continued to use the FestivalChairs for several years after the event: as gifts, as décor for in-house films, and to break the ice at business meetings.
